The newly appointed Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the Plateau Specialist Hospital has assumed office following the handing of reigns by the immediate past CMD Dr Philemon Golwa. In a brief ceremony held at the administration block of the hospital on Wednesday 2nd August 2023, the outgone CMD Dr Philemon Golwa took time out to give account of the State own Specialist Hospital from the time he took over to the time of the handing- over.
Shortly afterwards, Dr Golwa presented the handing over note to the New CMD Prof Christopher Yilgwan and said that he will be available in the hospital and is ready to provide his expertise for the betterment of the hospital and Plateau people.
While responding, the New CMD Plateau Specialist Hospital, Prof Christopher Yilgwan in accompany of his lovely wife Mrs Yilgwan, other family members and acquaintances appreciated everyone for attending the brief ceremony noted that the handing-over event was not for long speeches but an opportunity to seek for the support of the management Staff of the hospital. He asked for the cooperation of members of the management team of the Hospital in order to move the Hospital forward for the betterment of Plateau State.
He then proceeded on a tour of the Hospital facilities in company of the outgone CMD Dr Philemon Golwa and other members of the management team.
Recall that Governor Caleb Mutfwang recently announced new leadership for various Agencies, Boards and Parastatals in the State, including the Plateau Specialist Hospital with Prof Christopher Yilgwan as Chief Medical Director.
Until his appointment, Prof Christopher Yilgwan Lectured at the Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of Jos and a Consultant Pediatrician at the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH). He is also the current Chairman, Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) University of Jos Chapter.
