Participants at the just concluded 6-day retreat and onboarding of the Executive arm of government organized by the Plateau State Government have resolved to embrace the vision and mission of the Governor Caleb Mannaseh Mutfwang led administration which encapsulate 3 priorities, 10 thematic and 28 Sub-thematic areas and work collectively, collaboratively and assiduously towards building a united Plateau in line with the goals and objectives of “The Time is Now” mantra.

The resolution was reached at the end of the 6-day retreat and onboarding event held at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru from Sunday 13th to Friday 19th August 2023.
Participants at the event included the Governor of Plateau State His Excellency Barrister Caleb Mannaseh Mutfwang, his Deputy Mrs Josephine Piyo, Secretary to the Government of Plateau State Arch Samuel Nanchang Jatau, all Honourable Commissioners, Heads of Boards, Agencies, Commissions, Parastatals and EXCO Members of the Plateau State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The event had expert resource persons and facilitators drawn from various works of life who took time out to address, inspire and challenge participants to develop the right mindsets, attitude and the spirit of team work for the collective good of the State and it citizens.
According to the communique’ which was read by the Secretary to the Government of Plateau State, Arch Samuel Nanchang Jatau on behalf of the participants shortly after the close of the event, also had the following resolutions;
- Improve funding to meet the goals of the State by exploring alternative sources of funding, reducing the Cost of governance and improving revenue generation for effective Project funding;
3, Foster good governance through the adoption and implementation of people-oriented policies, blocking loopholes, reducing wastages and adopting cost-effective, transparent and accountable processes as well as embracing e-governance;
- Practice inclusivity and mainstream gender in all policies and programs of Government;
- Rise above the years of socio-economic, political and security struggles, build on the legacies of its founding fathers and attain a clear identity, freedom and preserve its heritage;
- Cascade the training to otter officials of Government/Civil Servants to ensure a holistic comprehension? of the ‘The TIME is NOW’ Mantra;
- Enforce the ban on the collection of illegal taxes and mounting of illegal roadblocks;
- Settle down to the business of giving good governance to the people of Plateau State, The Time is Now to begin to prepare for life after Office; and
- Practice sound lifestyles that birth productivity and effectiveness in both the workplace and private lives.
While declaring the retreat closed on behalf of the Executive Governor of Plateau State His Excellency Barrister Caleb Mannaseh Mutfwang who was unaviodeably absent, the Deputy Governor of Plateau State, Her Excellency Mrs Josephine Piyo charged participants to make good use of the knowledge gained during the retreat, stressing the need to unite and give their best in service to the people of Plateau State and not any self seeking agenda.

Mrs Piyo equally charged all political appointees to deliver effective service to the people of Plateau state in line with the mission and vision of Gov. Caleb Mutfwang.
She stated that by moving in tune with governor Mutfwang’s developmental agenda, policy, goals, objectives and key priorities, the appointees would make the administration deliver its campaign promises to the people.
She added that the officials should see their appointment as an act of service to God and humanity, charging them to put in hard work and dedication in the discharge of their duties.
The Deputy Governor said that the retreat and onboarding activities has imparted effective leadership qualities, ethical principles and transparency on the participants and as such should meet expectations.
She charged the appointees on the importance of engaging stakeholders, ensure effective communication, public relations techniques and build partnerships for inclusive development in the state.
