HRH Alh (Dr) Abubakar IBN Umar Garbai El-Kanemi CFR, Shehu of Borno, Chairman of the Borno State Council Of Chiefs, the Deputy President General Jama’atul Nasrul Islam, Deputy President General Nigeria Supreme Council For Islamic Affairs and the Chancellor University of Lagos has hosted HRH Dr Selky Kile Torughedi Eyewei 5th of Azuzuama Community Southern Ijaw LGA Bayelsa State on Thursday 31st August 2023 in Abuja, the nation’s Capital.
HRH Dr Selky who is also known as Chief Otorubofa 1 of Niger Delta who believes in promoting the Ijaw Nation and keeping a healthy relationship, was graciously received by the Borno Emirate.
The roles being played by the Shehu of Borno in the area of maintaining peace in the North East especially Borno State and Nigeria at large has made it possible for him to appreciate capable hands who are building Nigeria for the purpose of peace and good governance.
The Bayelsa monarch HRH Dr Selky Kile Torughedi commended the Emir for his resilience and doggedness in helping the Nigerian Security agents provide measures against threat and any form of attack or aggression against the nation and its citizenry from the North East.
The Borno Emirate, was a traditional Nigerian state formed at the start of the 20th century, currently headed by HRH (Dr) Abubakar Ibn Garbai El-Kanemi the Shehu of Borno who was delighted when he received the young vibrant Bayelsa Monarch, HRH Dr Selky Kile Torughedi, describing the Amananawei of Azuzuama as Ambassador of Ijaw Nation and a peace maker who understands the need and purpose of peace.
He added in his own words that “we shall build the country together for the world to understand that Nigeria is a nation for harmony”.
