Massive protests have rocked Jos the Plateau State capital hours after the Court of Appeal in Abuja sacked all Federal Lawmakers elected under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The protests began in the early hours of Wednesday 8th November, 2023 as citizens, comprising youths, men and women who came out in their numbers to protest what they called injustice when about seven National Assembly members from Plateau where Removed by the Appeal court.
The injustice, according to some of the protesters raised eyebrows after same Court of Appeal in other cases had declared that the issue of Nomination, Qualifications and Sponsorships all fall under pre election matters but to the surprise of many, all plateau cases came out differently even after the supreme court had declared same in the presidential election petition tribunal.
The protesters who came out in their thousands Blocking major high ways within and outside the state capital, some at the Maraban Jama’a, while thousands at the Old Airport roundabouts. Some of the protesters were seen crying while others were holding Placards reading different inscriptions to show there Dissatisfaction with the Ugly incident happening at the Appeal Court. It was generally a peaceful protest well monitored by Security Agencies where there was no breakdown of laws and orders
