NOAWA President restates commitment to improve welfare of members/humanity amidst tears, commissions Projects Executed by NAOWA at 3 Div Nigerian Army

The National President, Nigerian Army Officers Wives Association (NAOWA), and wife of the Chief of Army Staff (Lt. Gen. Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja), Mrs Mariya Abiodun Lagbaja has said that the welfare of NAOWA members and indeed humanity remains top of her priority. This she said she will continue to pursue for the betterment of the society at large.

Mrs Maria Lagbaja disclosed this on Thursday 23rd November 2023 while distributing palliatives (foodstuff and cash) to the wives of fallen heroes (i.e Soldiers who paid the ultimate price in-the-line-of-duty) as part of activities to mark her first visit at the Maxwell Kobe Cantonment, 3 Division, Nigerian Army, Jos.

Mrs Lagbaja who couldn’t hold back tears while distributing different varieties of foodstuff and cash to the women was quick to note that no amount of gifts can quantify the magnitude of the void created by the loss of their husbands who died in-the-line-of-duty. She encouraged them to be strong and remain prayerful. She used the opportunity to call on spirited individuals and organizations to reach out to the families of fallen heroes in order to help make life easy for them.

Earlier, the NAOWA President and wife of the Chief of Army Staff Mrs Maria Lagbaja commissioned a 300 seating capacity NAOWA Multipurpose Hall, the renovated and remodeled NAOWA Nursery and Primary School, the NAOWA Bus Stop and Tricycle Transport Scheme and the emergency medical response ambulance.

Mrs Lagbaja also performed the official ground-breaking of the ‘Mariya Abiodun Lagbaja’ (MAL) NAOWA Recreation Center and Park. She also led in the tree planting exercise at the location, accompanied by the General Officer Commanding 3 Division and Commander Operation Safe Haven, Major General A. E Abubakar, the Chairperson NAOWA 3 Division Chapter, Mrs Fibishola Abubakar, the Chairlady of the event Mrs Bilkisu AB Ibrahim, the wife of the immediate past GOC/Commander Operation Safe Haven Major General AB Ibrahim. The event was well attended by Staff Officers, Commanders, Commanding Officer and other Senior Military Officers of 3 division.
