“This is the beginning of the fulfillment of the promises we made to Plateau People” Governor Mutfwang

The Rwang Pam Township Stadium was filled to capacity as Plateau people gathered in their thousands, dressed in green and white clothing to participate in the Interdenominational Thanksgiving Organized by the Plateau State Government to thank God for the victory of Governor Caleb Mutfwang at the Supreme Court. This was the conclusion of the week-long celebration declared by the Governor following his victory at the Supreme Court. Recall that on Friday 19th January 2024, Muslims in the State gathered at the Jos Central Mosque to thank God for the victory of the Governor as well.

At the stadium, there were sessions where the people were led by different Ministers of the gospel in prayers, praise and worship to God for what had happened. The emotions were so thick as the people poured out their hearts at the event.

Governor Caleb Mutfwang along with his family and close associates mounted the podium to express profound gratitude to God for the victory at the Supreme Court and many other successes. In his own words the Governor announced that “This is the begging of the fulfillment of the promises we made to Plateau People…and by the grace of God we will continue from where great Plateau leaders stopped”.

The governor used the opportunity to thank the people of Plateau State for voting him rightly and correctly at the 2023 polls as the Governor of Plateau State, stressing that he didn’t take that opportunity for granted. He couldn’t hide his joy when he extended his appreciation to the Church on the Plateau for praying steadfastly, in unity for his victory at the polls to be ratified at the Supreme Court after the scare at the Court of Appeal. He thanked the Justices of the Supreme Court for standing their ground in upholding the mandate of the people despite overtures to do otherwise.

Governor Mutfwang specially thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for not intruding into the affairs of the judiciary to influence the outcome in favour of his party despite invitations from people who tried to use his name and pressure him into taking overturning the mandate of thepeople.

The governor also specially thanked the Media both in Plateau State and nationally for rising up to the occasion to insist that what was done at the Court of Appeal was an injustice against the people who voted massively for their choice. “The Media has demonstrated capacity beyond measure. You have shown that you are the spokesperson of those who have no voice” he said.

The Guest Minister, who is President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Bishop Wale Oke while reading from the book of Luke 17:11-19 declared that this was the begging of many victories for Plateau State as a whole. He also said that Plateau State had moved from healing, to cleansing and wholeness.
