The Plateau State Government has reiterated that the lockdown resumption announced by Gov Simon Bako Lalong resumes Midnight of Sunday 26th April 2020 remains unchanged. This position was made available in a statement issued by the Director of Press and Public Affairs to the Governor, Mr Makut Alfred Macham P. hD.
The statement pointed out that “The Plateau State Government wishes to remind citizens that the total lockdown of the State as a result of the Corona Virus Pandemic resumes midnight Sunday 26th April 2020 after the three day window, as announced by Governor Simon Bako Lalong in a State broadcast on 23rd April”.

The statement went further to state that “To this effect, all citizens are enjoined to abide by all provisions of the lockdown as violators will be arrested and prosecuted accordingly”. Stressing that “Further details of the lockdown will be unveiled in due course”.
The statement advised all “Citizens should therefore disregard fake and unverified information, and seek reliable communication from relevant Government channels at all times”.
The Government appreciated all law abiding citizens for their support and cooperation in the fight against this pandemic, and assures them that it is doing everything possible to contain the situation, particularly now that the State has an index case.
