ANFS President, Ex-Command Students visit Command Secondary School Suleja, distributes free sanitary pads, palliatives

The President Association of Nigerian Female Students (ANfS), Comrade Sarki Sylvia (GCNFS) and EX-Command students were at the  Command Secondary School Suleja, Zuma Barracks Niger State in furtherance of their “Period Doesn’t Stop with Pandemic” campaign.

The President and her team arrived the school premises on Sat 22nd August 2020, 11.00 hours. They were received by Captain A.O Izan who welcomed and addressed the visit formally. He stress the need for the COVID-19 safety measures to be observe.

ANFS President Sylvia Sarki intimated Captain A.O Izan on the purpose of the visit and then proceeded to the venue of the event where students were already well seated it the school multipurpose hall. The student were so excited and overwhelm by the visit of the team.

The V.P Academics Mr Jackson, Mr Silas, an Officer and Ex-students on visit were present at the venue.
This visit was tagged 7″Period doesn’t Stop with Pandemic”. The project according to her was initiated to reach out to girls with free sanitary pads especially in this period of economic hardship orchestrated by COVID-19. She stressed that while much focus was given to providing palliatives, the girl child was left without much attention. This was her source of motivation in reaching out at this critical time.

The event climaxed with the distribution of free sanitary pads to female students and donation of palliatives to the school for the students. ANFS President express gratitude to the Honorable Minister of Women Affairs, Dame Pauline Tallen do promptly intervening and supporting the project.

A minute silence was observed in memory of Late Uncle Don, who according to Miss Sylvia Sarki, thought her how to play badminton during her school days and that made her a Gold medalist of her time.

The project was supported by the Honorable Minister, Federal Ministry of Women Affairs, Country Association Network and X-Commando
