Rt Hon George Daika appreciates Southern Zone

Former Speaker,  Plateau State House of Assembly, Rt Hon George Edward Daika has thanked the Southern Zone delegates of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for their show of love and trust during the just concluded Bye-Election Primaries conducted to in Shendam. He further thanked the NWC of the PDP, the primaries committee and the State PDP for their peaceful and transparent conduct of the primaries.

Rt Hon George Daika emerged victorious defeating four other contestants. His appreciation  was contained in a statement signed by himself. He is now the flag bearer of the PDP in the October 31st 2020 Southern Zone Senatorial District Bye-Elections

The statement is presented as received;


I wish to appreciate God Almighty the ultimate source of our destinies, the National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP, our respected elders/BoT members which include HE Sen Jonah David Jang, Sen JT Useini, Sen Ibrahim Nasiru Mantu, HE Ambassador Fidelis Tapgun, Hon DT Sango, the PDP Plateau Southern Senatorial Primaries Committee headed by Sen. Mao Ohabunwan, the PDP Plateau State Executives, the PDP Plateau South Zonal Executives, the House of Representatives Member Langtang North/Langtang South Federal Constituency Hon. Beni Lar, the Chairman Langtang North LGC Hon. Joshua Laven Ubandoma, PDP Members in the State House of Assembly from the Southern Zone (Hon. Sohchang Zingtim, Hon. Daniel Nanbol Listick Langtang North Central Constituency and Hon. Pirfa Dingfa Tyem Langtang North North), all PDP critical Stakeholders from the Southern Zone, all PDP Local Government Area/Ward Executives from Plateau Southern Zone and every person who contributed to the successful conduct of the PDP Plateau Southern Senatorial Primaries which elected my humble self as the flag Bearer of the Party in the forthcoming Senatorial by-election slated for 31st October, 2020.

May I use this opportunity to appreciate all other great personalities who took part in the Primary Election. My bosom Rt. Hon. Michael Dapianlong who happened to be my colleague at the Plateau State House of Assembly from 1999-2003, Barr. Philip Isa Nyitni, Mr. Chrysanthus Dawam and Hon. Ja’afaru Damulak (who later withdrew from the race) for their understanding and the spirit of sportsmanship they exhibited before, during and after the Primaries. This victory is ours collectively and we will work together to make our dream of the Senate a reality for our great Party, the PDP during the main election. I hold you all in high esteem and believe the future is brighter and promising to all of us.

May I specially thank the delegates of our Party from Plateau Southern Zone who deemed it fit to confide and trust us with this ticket, for their great show of love, sacrifices, solidarity and uncommon commitment.
This is a rare privilege which we will never take for granted and your efforts are noticed and greatly appreciated.

Having represented our people in different capacities and at different levels, we are not new to Legislative activities as we have gathered experiences and skills over the time and we will do better if elected to the Red Chamber to represent Plateau Southern Zone.
We will improve and consolidate on our previous achievements and provide credible and people-oriented representation which will address the plights of our people.
By the grace of God, we will bring our wealth of legislative experience and prowess to bear to better the lives of our people and transform Plateau Southern Zone.

We call on all Stakeholders from Plateau Southern Zone, Party Executives/ Supporters and all other Aspirants to join hands towards a resounding victory for our party, so we can provide greater dividends of democracy to our people.
